Kisarazu City is located in the central part of
the western side of Chiba Prefecture, which is situated next to
the eastern side of the capital, Tokyo. It is on the opposite
side of Tokyo across Tokyo Bay and linked by the ''Tokyo Wan Aqua-line''.
It is blessed with nature like the abundant waters of Tokyo Bay
on the west and greenery of the gentle mountain ranges of the
Southern Boso Peninsula on the east. It has a mild climate throughout
the year and the wide availability of fresh delicacies of the
sea and mountains bring visitors to enjoy the city's warm-hearted
atmosphere. Kisarazu is also a city of history and tradition full
of dream and culture with plenty of nature looking out towards
Tokyo Bay. It flourished as an important point of both marine
and ground transportation from ancient times, and developed greatly
as a key city of the Southern Boso Peninsula. In the 21st century,
great progress as a site of research and development of the high-tech
industry focusing on DNA is expected. As an important foothold
of land transportation, industry, and international distribution
linking Tokyo and Narita International Airport by Tokyo Wan Aqua-line,
Kisarazu's location is key. Because of this, Kisarazu City was
designated by the government as a City of International Exchange
as well as a City of International Convention & Tourism. More
development is expected as an industrial core city which will
be playing a key role in the metropolitan function.
